Wordy., I was determined not to be upset as we went through this
and to not be relieved once we were finished with it.  I think it's over because the girls now have access to the precedent of the "stay-put" clause of the open-enrollment statute.  That is, that if they were living in that district when the mother filed for divorce then they stay put.  (She left on Jan. 5 and filed on Jan 17, of 1997, after the girls had been in school there for ten days.)

I hope that that does not turn into a problem for you.

Ariala, right, if she gets hit with garnishment of wages over an arrears
payment, she will pull the children's college fund and I will be stuck bailing them out of that on my own.  Funny how some people don't care who gets hurt in the game of chicken!

Ariala, Ca88andra and Moondog, I'd be willing to bet that we are finished
here.  However, as my frined Toby (from Robert Brothers' Coffee Bar) tells me, what has happened inadvertantly, is the Ankeny school district has asked us to violate the terms of the divorce decree, officially.  I cannot help but think that that is the reason she would never sign the forms.  Now that I have done it, I suppose I am culpable!

Something tells me that
you have yet to hear the last of this. After all you are dealing with the government and they will spend a million dollars to collect three.

Wow, good question...I sure hope that doesn't happen.
