At least during Vietnam
we had a divided government, and eventually all the corruption and lies got revealed. We no longer
have any system that could come close to "checks and balences". The executive branch is conservative republican, the senate and the congress are controlled by the same party and the Supreme Court is in the hands of conservatives. We are doomed. At the end of these 4 years the American economy will be in the toilet as well.

It is very possible this will over shadow Vietnam
as it plays out, especially when they say that we will be there through the Bush years.
