Celebrate but on a smaller scale.

The day will be gone before you know it.

Symphony
If I had my druthers, I'd spend Christmas far away somewhere, on a sun drenched beach or maybe in the snowy mountains. Instead, I have family obligations and a big get together to host. It feels more like duty than pleasure, you can be lonely even when surrounded by people. Especially people who don't get on all that well, lol. Hopefully, you can experience some joy and peace of the holiday through the enjoyment of your children. Take care friend.

Christmas and children

Symph, Christmas with your children will be great, I just know it. There is nothing that can cheer a heart faster than seeing the excitment on their faces.

It will be different than other years, but it will be better, because the stress is not there.

So use this year to make new, happy memories.

Mmm-hmmm...
Last year was the first year I really enjoyed Christmas since I was about nine years old.  I made a deal with myself last year to let go of all the negativity and just enjoy the holiday, and I did.  It was wonderful.  So, I've made that deal with myself again.  :)

Yes, holidays can be depressing,

what with the stress and later the anti-climax.

The holiday season
has always been a low time of the year for me. I like the holiday feeling and the music, but it just seems so false, and there are many bad memories for me this time of year. Enjoy you children. Celebrate the holiday through them.

well it will Christmas eve here when you are having Christmas, so I'm sure there will be folks on. And then it will be Boxing Day for you when we have Christmas. I suspect that I will happily tear myself away from the ocnstant chocolate eating and small children screaming to check in on you!

As for the space I have no idea.... I was hoping somethild funny would occur to me - I guess that it must be my blank sense of humour. LOL!

Well, Symph,
Christmas can be very depressing - for a lot of people. Sometimes you can just wallow in it, or you can fight it. At least fight it for as long as it takes for the kids to open thier presents after that they will be too busy to notice your wallowing :)
