While I wouldn't consider myself to be a huge Stephen King fan in general, I count his book
The Stand among my very favorites, without question.

Can't stick to one book...
What comes close though is Sun Tzu's The Art of War, almost any translation, followed by all of Buckmimster Fuller's works, Russell's Principia Mathematica, and Koestler's Sleepwalkers books. Fiction-wise, Dennis Wheatley, particularly his Duc de Richleau and Roger Brooks series, Ayn Rand's Atlas Shrugged and Fountainhead. And, for sheer enjoyment, Robert A Heinlein (although I can;t really call those "favourites".

I have so many favourites, I wouldn't know where to start. In my childhood I loved the Narnia series and "The Little White Horse" the best. Later in life I read and loved Le Carre and Agatha Christie. Nowadays I love anything by Maya Angelou and biographies of strong women as well as motivational books - especially "Think and Grow Rich" and "You Can Heal Your Life". I'm sure I will find many other favourites in future years.

Hmmm
My favorites are probably still To Kill a Mocking Bird and Charlotte's Web. Charlotte's Web was the first "big book" I ever read on my own and I really loved the story.
To Kill a Mocking Bird, well, it was just a great book.

Rudyard Kipling "The Jungle Book"
I'm not talking the disney version here. The actual book. Kipling became my favorite classic author by the time I was 15. I loved to read his visual imagery of India and the relationships he wrote about. His poetry was beautiful as well. I could always get something new by reading it over. It's been a few years, I think I'll have to get it and read it again!
