Great Post

I especially like the opening sentences. Good point.

One problem with "religion"

I think one of the problems with the world today, and I won't specify any individual "religion", but so many of the religions out there create their "own" rules. Instead of people reading and trying to understand the meaning of their Bible, they believe what is told to them by their "religion".

When the "rules" become hard enough to follow, the religion changes. It's my opinion if you are gonna call yourself a religion, you should follow the rules, not change the rules and create a new variation of the religion to serve you personal preferences.

Westwend -
Well said. I myself wonder sometimes how some people can believe in the God they create. But then I try to remember that we are all on the same journey, just at different points along the path.

precisely.
I have nothing to hide, fear or protect. I was not implying that you do. My question is, do atheists want to discover Jesus Christ for themselves that they might share in Him and know Him, or do they wish to trap Him in a lie or a contradiction and thus vindicate and prove their argument? God will not entertain such.  God only responds to a heart cry. He only responds to honesty. He does not respond to ulterior motive or intellectuall pride and vanity.

these questions that atheists ask, there are answers
but the real question is, do the atheists reaaly want to know the answer?:

Now it happened on one of those days, as He taught the people in the temple and preached the gospel, that the chief priests and the scribes, together with the elders, confronted Him 2 and spoke to Him, saying, "Tell us, by what authority are You doing these things? Or who is he who gave You this authority?"

3 But He answered and said to them, "I also will ask you one thing, and answer Me: 4 The baptism of John—was it from heaven or from men?"

5 And they reasoned among themselves( instead of answering Him honestly), saying, "If we say, ‘From heaven,’ He will say, ‘Why then did you not believe him?’ 6 But if we say, ‘From men,’ all the people will stone us, for they are persuaded that John was a prophet." 7 So they answered that they did not know where it was from.

8 And Jesus said to them, "Neither will I tell you by what authority I do these things." Luke 20;2-8
