Well, Alf, I'm glad you realized it and were able to make the best
out of it all. That was a very interesting and smart thing for you to do and still be around what you loved! Cool.

Yeah, I did, Rach, but I do wish the spitfire in me would have quit
a bit earlier than I did! Damn, my knees are killing me!

ginnieb, I'm not that old, but I'll say I'm finding that out more and more
every day!

gypsyRed, thanks. I know all that kind of stuff happens for a reason.
I just wish camcorders were more common back then so I could maybe have some of it on tape. Oh well.

Spitfire...
Thank you for sharing that.  I had a similar revelation when I realesed I ahd spent to much times being a Dad and working, I was too old to realistically pursue my childhood dream of Being a succesful pro boxer.  So I started a boxing gym instead that was very rewarding.  Good story.

That's rough...
Giving up something you love is always hard, but it's even more painful when you are sort of forced to give it up...  At least you tried, you gave it your best effort..

It's especially difficult when bodies don't cooperate toward our dreams...no matter how hard we push them. Makes no sense.

It's always hard to give up a dream..
But you were probably needed by someone, somewhere else. This is just the way it took to put you on that path. I'm sure you'll have your turn in the spotlight again when you least expect it!
