You need to study history better my friend.
The simple fact that the conservatives are making it very clear that they do not wish to hear any opposition to their views. If you speak out against them they start saying you are un-American and should leave the country and are just helping the enemy. Not such idiotic propaganda is very much against the American values but Conservatives have made it very clear in my eyes that they care nothing at all for American values. They do not want people to have freedom of speech.
The COnservatives being idiots and against freedoms alone is not going to do anything.
But you have the biggest idiotic Conservative of all in power, Bush. The Patriot act is a big step in the wrong direction when it comes to our personal freedoms. The next step after the terrorist attack us again, and thanks to Bush's agenda they have a great opening and will most likely take it real soon, is for Bush to go and pass some other set of laws that will claim to be about protecting America, when in fact all it will do is take away more rights and will very possible be what can be used to silence any who disagree with Bush's ideas. It is a very destructive path hat Bush has started us down and tanks t all those who foolish voted him into a second term, we will be taken farther down that path. Many will write this off as what is best for the country, when in fact ti is just turning us more and more into what we claim to be against. Bush, the patriot act and the present path we are headed in are against American ideas and are taking us down a very dark path that will lead to our freedoms being taken away.
It is fairly obvious to me that you did not understand the post itself. the main idea was that liberals are being told that they need to give in and just start to at least pretend to agree with the conservatives so that the rest of the world will not see us fighting among ourselves. I was trying to point out that such actions would makes us look worse to the world, not better.
I know what paranoia is and I know that is this case I am far from being paranoid. Bush is NOT a good think for America. This is FACT. If Bush keeps going the way he has this last term, there is a very good chance that America will no longer be what is is suppose to be.

You are afraid that you will be silenced?
Kooka, what is your problem? Are you paranoid-schizophrenic now? You suggest that you will be silenced? How would that be accomplished? You are venting your paranoia and hatred with gusto. So are every other liberal paranoid in the country. No one is being shuffled off quietly to prison, like happens in true tyrannies. So how is it that you will be silenced? Tell us now, inquiring minds want to know.

What we are doing in Iraq is helping no one at all, not even those in Iraq. All it is doing is causing more problems. Bush will become well known for all the problems he is causing both here at home and over seas
I am fairly sure I said it really does not matter what the rest of the world thinks in my post. Now the conservatives were trying to use the fact that other world leaders were backing Bush as a reason to vote for him. I was trying to point out just why that was a poor reason to vote for Bush.

I don't really care about what the rest of the world thinks
about me and the United States. The French, Germans, Russians, Chinese, and many of the rest are a bunch of immortal idiots who traded with Iraq on an illegal basis. Then they want to turn around and act like we are doing something wrong. The problem with them and people here in the U.S. is that think we have to kowtow to them is just pure jealousy. We are the lone superpower and a lot of people resent that. I don't give a rats ass if they do. We are going to do things as we see fit and in the end it will benefit all people of the world.

Long before Bush's second term
is over a lot of people who voted for him will be kicking themselves for it.
