Separation anxiety

Symph,

my kids acted EXACTLY the same way yours are......I didn't pee or shower alone until they went to school :)

They need to learn though that Mummy needs her own time, and you should show them every day, for 5 minutes a few times a day that you should be alone, they will be fine, and you'll come back (from the other room or the bathroom) they will learn a teeny bit of independence. They will protest BIGTIME, but preservere, it will work.

My son also had a battle with exzema. It's tough to get under control since so many different things can make different children react. My son couldn't wear anything but pure cotton sox and tshirts, and I used baby soap (Ivory Snow in Canada), rinsing twice, for all his laundry, sheets included. No perfume soap, no bubble baths. As young as he was I actually got a prescription lotion for him to get it under control, to stop the cycle of itch, itch, itch. He reacted to tomatoes and orange and apple juice (the acidity). I finally got allergy tests done for him and was able to eliminate a bunch of stuff from his diet and environment.

Hang in there Symph !

I had a severe case of eczema growing up as a small child.   It was especially aggravated by immuninizations-- ask your pediatrician about that.  Oatmeal works wonders, so does Aloe. (My mother actually kept the plant on hand and broke off pieces of it when needed).  Also, steer clear of chocolate and give plenty of lemon water to your little one.    LOL.  Regarding "me" time, Barney's Lullabies works wonders.

I''m sorry Symph,
I know the deep craving for some alone time. I can hardly wait until I can go to the bathroom with the door CLOSED! Arrrrgh!
