Love Is The Answer, But What Was The Question?

In other words, what form should love take when we are dealing with society's cast-offs?

Clearly we can't promote killing to stop suffering; there are too many innocent people whose hands must be bloodied in order to implement something so hopeless, fruitless and counterintuitive.

I would say that the one with the greatest passion for the cast-off in question needs to step up to the plate.  The universe calls us with its infinite organizing power to come and be a part of the stream of life.  And if we're not particularly moved by the suffering of another -- if we simply can not relate or identify with them -- then we need to find someone who can out of respect for our own process of healing and reconciliation.  We have to quit stepping over homeless people in the street and put them people who are gifted with the spirit that inspires the least among us to seek and find their inner greatness.  And we need to have a healthy population of skeptics who know when it is time to pull the plug and keep the scissors away from Johnny.

And while we're at it, we need to find help for these poor rat-bastard rich people who won't hear what their heart is trying to tell them.  There's money for everyone in them thar idgits. <g>

multifaceted thoughts

GWB, from stolen elections to drug running to mind control and social trauma--you have alot on your mind!  I agree that there is a "sense" that something foul occured on Nov. 2, and my sickest feeling of abandonment was with Kerry's concession so swiftly (though I wasn't surprised, I knew the Bush's would start the rhetoric of  "healing" the divide so that it put Kerry in a spoiler spot if he didn't).  We, the people, put so much energy into the election that it was degrading to be brushed aside without relevant time applied to discover truth and justice.  It isn't just the "administration" that is corrupt--the whole political system is a cesspool of favoritism and pandering to wealth and power that the PEOPLE are of little consequence.  They roll out the propaganda machine every 2 or 4 years to make it look as if the people have something to do with it all, but we have abdicated our rights in favor of leisure and turned a blind eye (or two) to the conditions within our own communities and say that "someone" ought to do something.  "Someone" doesn't exist.  As for our national trauma, I agree with you that nationalism is the tool of despots and as we wave our flag and chant "god bless america" we are furthering ourselves from the universal condition of humanity.

There is one thing that can heal trauma, that is consistant love, enduring the painful moments when distrust flares up and it seems impossible to love the trauma effected isolated soul, but it can heal.  Trust can be repaired and sanity returned.

Peace,

FR
