You just said 'I do believe liberalism is a disease that is gradually infecting our society.' That is a very hateful statement.

Also, go and read my post about how you idea that liberalism and communism are related is nothing more than conservative propaganda.

Somebody Has Misread Me
I just accidentally came across your comment about my "hatefulness" after doing a google search to figure out if there was anybody else out there blogging with the name Jethro. I have to say I'm quite disappointed. It is sad that our society has gotten to the point of citing any displays of conviction as "hatefulness". In my blogs I use satire and comedy, my chosen tools, to advance my positions. Right off the bat I was called a "jackass" by t_rat and once again since. Never have I reduced myself to blatant name calling on this site. That you would use me as an example of hatefulness is odd. I do not hate anybody. Today it is fashionable to be a liberal. This has led to a large amount of people(especially the young) being pulled to the left without really knowing or caring why. I do believe liberalism is a disease that is gradually infecting our society. Liberalism led to communism in years past and in turn to over 100 million dead people. Therefore I feel extremely justified in poking fun at left-minded people in the hopes that more people will truly examine the facts behind their rhetoric. It is my goal to make it a little less comfortable to be a liberal by fashionable default in the hopes that the mistakes of the past aren't repeated.

No you are not a cancer

but a lot of people think that liberals are a cancer. Just like liberals think ill of conservative thinking. I guess what I was trying to say is in order to heal the huge ' divide' in this country in efforts to prevent a very serious conflict down the road is for each side to understand that it is painful to be called stupid, homophobe, racist, hayseed, idiot OR commie, marxist, traitor, God hater, pinko etc. red diaper baby. You get the point. Both sides express intolerance. Both sides have legitamate ideas and values. I come to this website to take the countrys pulse, so to speak. It is disturbing to see such rock throwing from both sides. This blogger Jethro has strong veiws but he lets a hatefulness get into the mix which ruins any possibility of cohesion. That is what the problem is in the whole damn country right now. I just boiled down his sentiments to its bare parts. I get tired of this long winded hatefully packaged pieces when they could really just be expressed in 2 or 3 sentances

Im really not sure what a " hard core conservative'

means. I would never SERIOUSLY suggest that you are any one actually leave the country. That would be offering advice to just ' give up'. That is something I do not believe in. I would not claasify myself as a rep or dem but I do have more conservative leanings as far as traditional 'red state' morality goes.

I have been talking and listning to a variety of people who are truly sick at heart over this election, although sympathetic to their emotion I really dont agree with their thinking that Bush is so horrible and is going to inflict irreprable damage to this country. I admit I get frustrated with the whole thing. I try not to get in debates because the level of emotion is so HIGH. Sometimes the only solution for them seems to be to just leave, although I would rather them not leave because it is ridiculas.

So Kooka, I am NOT suggesting that you leave. America is sharpened by active thinking and debating. THe Democratic party needs to market their ideas and values a little better is all.

Also, I am far from being a cancer. Liberal thinking is far from being a cancer. It would be like cutting out half your brain because you get rational thoughts from it that do not agree with the irrational thoughts you would much rather follow.

That is not a real solution to the problems. even if all the liberals were to leave the country, Bush would still be destroying democracy and possible causing great problems for the whole world. It is an insult saying that my views should not count. It is saying that I should just shut up when I see what is clearly wrong being done by those in power just because such truths and facts upset some people.

Are you against democracy as well then? Are you saying that all those who oppose the current administration should just leave the country until someone takes over who they like? Sorry, but that is not how a democracy works. That is not freedom. That is not showing respect for other's views.

Whenever anyone says 'If you don't like it just leave' about a person political stance about a their country, they are not showing respect at all.

Jakcie, you have claim to not be such a hard-core Conservative, but just by defending such an actions leaves me to wonder.

Bush's desire to get rid of our freedom and the idea of democracy is well shown in his supporters such as Jethro there.

Why do people automatically assume conservatives
dont respect others views. I think jethro does respect your views Kooka. He respects them so much, he even had the heart to offer you a suggestion to remedy your fearful , troubled heart. A typical conserv response no doubt, cut right to the chase. Cut the cancer out, instead of destructive chemotherapy.

Showing that great conservative idea of democracy.  'If you disagree with my views then get the hell out of the country, becuase I don't like people who are not sheep like I am.'  It just rings so true with the ideas of free speech and such.  I just get so sick of people who have no respect for other's views.  Just hearing such a thing is about the biggest insult to America I can think of.  And it seems like it is normally the consevatives who wish to get those who disagree with them to shut-up.  I have never heard of a liberal telling some one to leave the country becuase their views conflict.  That alone to me shows who has the best grasp as to what true democracy really is.

Sorry good ol' boy, but I'm not leaving.  I still beleive that in the end things will work themselves out.  Even if Bush is draggin us down, he can only drag us so far before even his most willing supporters have to say 'that's enough'.  Besides we can not let the conservative destroy all freedom in this country and do away with the ideas of democracy.

I understand, Kooka, and I respect your opinion. I just disagree that
Kerry would have done more. Kerry would've been faced with a primarily Republican Senate, and therefore, like Bill Clinton, would've realistically achieved very little. When the Senate is primarily one party, and the Executive Branch of the government another, very little, overall, is ever achieved. This is historically documented throughout other presidential tenures. Kerry used this as a method to sway voters, when he should have also spoken the truth, the truth being, "These are my ideas, but I have very little actual hope of getting any of these ideas actually passed into law". This would've been the truth, but he also didn't speak the truth. I don't agree with the war in Iraq, Kooka (read my other comments to others here), as I think we need to focus on our own homeland first. I just don't agree that one would've been better than the other. They are simply politicians doing the "job" of winning elections. While Bush is not ideal, Kerry is not either, as Kerry would've had a "wish in one hand", and "s--t" in another", as he would've been in essence, practically powerless to do anything.

Bush had made it very clear early on that he wanted to go after Iraq, but he could not find a good reason for it. Then 9/11 hits and he is able to declare his war on Terror. using that he is then able to get people to back him up on the whole Iraq thing because he lies to them and gets them to believe that Iraq falls under the war on terror. I was already planning a full post that might explain better just how screwed up thing are because Bush (AND only Bush) started the stupid war that is a waste of lives and money.

As for who would have been better, Bush or Kerry. I honestly believe the one big difference would be that Kerry would have done all he could to get out of Iraq and focus one more of the real Terrorist, Bin Laden and his group, and put more resources on that. Bush however has made it very clear he has no desire ot pull out of Iraq and will most likely start up a few more little wars before he finish with Iraq.

I have never said I liked Kerry, i just think he would have been a better choice then Bush who has shown us what he is all about. I have very often stated that we would be much better off if we got rid of the whole party system all together and really voted for people because of what their views were and not because they were backed by one party or the other.

The war in Iraq is a culmination of happenings, Kooka, and did not occur in
a void. There is a long history there, and like you, I can't draw any real conclusions without the data to back up my conclusions. Nothing happens "overnight" and I sincerely believe that it was impossible to predict Sept. 11, and therefore, how could anyone plan to use it to their own advantage? What exact advantage are you assuming Bush is using all this for? Whether Bush was elected, or Kerry (and frankly, I didn't care much for either), the results would not have been all that significantly different. They both set out to win the election. Kerry as well as Bush. Kerry is a very rich man, also (perhaps richer than Bush), as he has access to the Heinz dynasty. Their "jobs" are to win the election for their respective parties, nothing more, nothing less. That is what politicians do, and one does not care more for you than another, nor does one work against you more than another. They probably go out to dinner together every weekend.

The who else started this war with Iraq?
Iraq had done nothing at all to even really attract attention. Bush is the only person in the whole world who started to push Iraq and wanted to go to war with them. He had enough power to get his people to create lies so that he could get others to back up this war. And thanks to 9/11 many were willing to blindly follow him since he was using that as an excuse to attack first. Iraq had nothing at all to do with the war on Terror. It is a very dangerous distraction , that is nothing more than Bush's personal agenda that is hurting America greatly.

No one has as much power as you seemingly attribute to Bush, Kooka.
As Golden stated, your premise is incorrect, and is largely based upon opinion. I am neither "here nor there" for Bush, I am just largely confused by your postings.

it's hard to blame
the puppet for the actions controlling him.
think about it again
how can this man, George W. Bush, really be any tpe of leader, let alone a "great" (lol) leader when he hasn't had a smidgen of leadership experience.
His entire life was basically handed to him on a silver platter -- he didn't have to work for anything in his life -- got into Yale because of his Dad's influence --- got grades that would have gotten anyone else thrown out -- yet was able to stay -- got a cushy national guard stint -- skipped out and yet came through -- was given position of pres of savings & loan that was going down the drain -- 70k for about 8 mos -- used his dad's influence to manipulate oil line contracts in Venezuela for his Dad's oil buddies -- got a whole lot of favors owed right there -- becamse gov of Texas due to Ann Richard's drunkenblunders and apparently some election strongarming -- gov of Texas is a figurehead position anyway -- doesn't do much except maybe send people to the electric chair --
His whole life has been orchestrated for him, so why would anyone think that his presidency isn't being orchestrated?
He's the ideal pres for moneyed interests who have an unparalleled opportunity for controling the country.

Once more for those Christians out there who are defending Bush, a lot of that fits into revelations really well. Bush is claiming to be do the will of God and Christ, yet his actions do not seem to reflect such. If I were a religious man, I might be worried. I think it is just coincidence, but it helps to make a great example of just how wrong what Bush is doing is. The Bible warns us about such actions and here the Christians are the ones defending Bush the most. You really have to start wondering if they have read the Bible themselves, or if they really have just done so much picking and choosing from it that they really only believe in such a small part of the Bible that any rules that go against what they wish to believe are just ignored.

I have no problem with war when there is a real justification for it. If we were really going after those who attacked us and the war was really with them I would be saying nothing about it. I am not a pacifist, far from it. Going into Iraq had nothing to do with the war on terror. It was Bush's personal agenda that is helping him and his vice-president out greatly. Both of them stand to make a lot of money off that war, and that is 100% fact. I can not help it if I have morals that say it is wrong to go and kill hundreds of thousands of innocent over a personal war that never should have gone down the way it did.

It is and that you and many other seem to be of the idea that Bush is a God sent. Hell he could walk up to you and your family on the street, shot your whole family in front of you, loot the bodies and then turn to you and say in a way that it is obvious that he is making it up on the spot' "They were all suspected terrorist and had to be dealt with" and you would fall on your knees and kiss his feet telling him how great a man he is. It is sad really that you and so many other are so blinded by Bush.

If you are religious, then you are the one who will have to justify your desire to back up the obviously evil actions of Bush. Ae I said by defending those actions you really are no better than Bush. I do not believe in God and will not defend actions that I view as wrong. If you believe in Revelations and that such events are going to start happening in your life time, then take a close look at what I says and you wills ee that Bush fits the bill perfectly for the Anti-Christ. It does make one wonder to see the similarities.

Thank you so much for making that great point. You are right. Bush has turned us into what the terrorist claimed us to be. Just helps to show just how evil Bush is. He is doing all he can to make it so the terrorist have a real justification to come after us again. Bush is willing to turn us into what we are trying to claim to not be, for his own personal reasons. Great point there. You really do seem to understand just how evil Bush is.

At least you are seeing the point to me revelations comment. If there is anyone in the world today who fits the bill of the anti-Christ it is Bush. I'm glad you see that as well. I of course do not believe in such things, but you claim to be a believe nd so should be very much against bush since he is doing more or less what the anti-Christ is suppose to do.

It is funny that Bush says that Jesus speaks to him
about the advancement of this country.  When pressed by Pilate about His political designs, Jesus answered that His Kingdom is not of this world.  But Dubya insists that Jesus is thinking of setting up this kingdom on earth by bombing Iraq.  I don't think so.

Your premise that Bush is evil is false
Your abhorrence of war, your basic abhorrence of all violence, is the basis of your position here. So you fall as an easy victim to all the whacked-out liberal condemnations of Bush: it is a war for oil, he and his friends are getting rich from it, etc., ad nauseum. There is no proof of that. It is your OPINION.

Your side just lost an election, partly because you called the rest of us stupid or evil. Now here you are, hawking the same tired old crap. But that's OK, keep it up, you will just continue to alienate more people, and your side will continue to lose more political power. That's fine with me!

could easily be mistaken for that of which a terrorist would write. Your views are extremely similar to that of Bin Laden. Interesting. There is a good part of your post. You are actually talking about Revelations and for you to do that speaks volumes.

I believe Bush is headed in that direction, there does seem ot be a level where he is actually believing himself to be a direct servant of God and so his mission is so holy that he has to be willing to do whatever it takes to do it. Although I am a little lost as to why God wants Bush to set himself up to become very wealthy off of it all, maybe that is just a perk Bush was able to work into it all. Luckily we are not in the same shape Germany was after W.W.I and so should not fall into such a trap. I do believe Bush is going to cause more harm than good these next four years though.

I honestly think Bush is mad with power and we would be better off without him running things. All we can do right now is wait it out and see what happens. I really do hope I am wrong on this one and that Bush will do the right thing for not only the US, but the whole world.
