jackie o - Wonderful Scripture passages that you shared here. They may not be acceptable as evidence to anyone else, but they make me look forward to adventure and excitement when I am gone from this earthly body that holds me back from many wonders. "Eye has not seen, ear has not heard, neither has entered into the heart of man the things that God has prepared for them that love Him."

These scriptures illustrate the future of your life in eternity with God
You will show me the path of life; ( denoting a continuem of revelation of knowledge, wisdom and understanding of your personal meaning and its relevance)
In Your presence is fullness of joy; ( denoting a process of learning, awareness, communion and pleasurable satisfaction as a result)
At Your right hand are pleasures forevermore. Ps 16:11-
in scripture, the 'right hand' referance is always Jesus Christ, who is the Word of God, the..knowledge of God
these ancient scriptures, if you investigate the Hebrew, always denote a verbal stance that is active, continuing and aggressive without ceasing. Never passive, that would relegate to a one time occurance.
God always speaks from an ETERNAL ( non era specific) perspective, His word sees something multifaceted and always in motion throughout eternity outside of the boundries of space time
We have no right to kill off the children before they could be corrupted by Satan because:
All your children shall be taught by the Lord,
And great shall be the peace of your children.
14
In righteousness you shall be established; You shall be far from oppression, for you shall not fear;
No weapon formed against you shall prosper,
And every tongue which rises against you in judgment
You shall condemn.
This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord,
And their righteousness is from Me," Isaiah 54
Says the Lord.
God has instructed us to take the offensive against Satan and defeat his purposes with the Sword of the Spirit ( the Word), like Jesus did in the desert against Satan. There is no excuse for aborting a baby to spare it from the assault of Satan with this command under our belt and empowering us.

I have yet to hear anyone find a passage in the Bible that says that is what happens. Most seem to believe that you will live in paradise with no wants and all of your needs met. That still does not make the idea of eternity any more desirable to me. I do not wish to live forever. The idea of any kind of eternal life makes this time I have completely meaningless. In fact death is pointless then. Morning death would make no sense at all if you believed in such things. It should then be considered a great crime to keep us alive on this plan of reality. It would help to say that the idea of abortion being very good thing. Kill off the children before they have a chance to be corrupted by Satan and risk not getting into heaven. I think I have written a post about that, but it might be time to write another one. There are some great flaws in the idea of heaven and then those believing in heaven putting such value on our lives here. The two ideas really do not go together well at all.

the bible does not teach
we will be mindless zombies in heaven. Rather it teaches we will be forever learning and exploring the riches and the knowledge of God ( and ourselves) throughout eternity. God is infinite and we are infinite in our capacity to learn and grow. That is what will take place in heaven.

Oh My Gosh!!
I hope, in this lifetime, you find out just who God really is, and if you do, everything else will fall into place. May He bless you greatly.

I won't. I have no desire to live in such a world. What is the point of being if you can not grow, learn and explore. Life is all about experaincing new things. Once you know eveyrthing there would seem to be little point to existance. If you wish to live a life where there is no point to it, feel free to I guess. It is very sad that such is what so many seem to desire.

you guys crack me up
when we are in heaven (the Christians that make it there) we will be complete spiritual, perfect beings. We will already have acheived total knowledge, growth and experience. If being a perfect being sounds to 'boring' for you, then by all means--don't go there.

Part of what makes life so great is that you work to make things better. It is the the need to improve yourself and your world that gives your life meaning. If in Heaven that is all handed to you, that you can achieve without needing to worry about making things better, then there is something lost there.
aardvark's comment shows the basic idea. If we are just given everything and there is no longer a need to learn and grow and such, then why do it? Also, let us focus on the here and now and not worry about any afterlife because we have no proof. We however do know that here is now is real. Well I am not going to go into any philosophical ideas on that one though.
I have yet to be given any idea of any kind of afterlife that sounds appealing to me.

I would relish the chance to continue to learn, grow, and explore. If heaven has that, I'm all for it. The scriptures are vague about what heaven is. I see no point in an afterlife that doesn't allow for continued growth and experience.
Basically, an afterlife is still an unproved, and perhaps unprovable thing. Better focus on the here and now as you say. If there is no heaven, we better do and be the best we can with the short time we've got.

In my otherworldview you have a lot of reason to fear the heaven you are constructing for yourself. Why is it such a stretch to think that the processes of daily living where we make over the place where we live and work don't apply to such a thing as what comes after? If you are right, and nothing comes after, then what have you lost? I agree with you that the idea of heaven being perfect (as in the opposite of earthly life) is of no value. But don't you try to make your life and the life of your children better? If a perfect place is so bad, then why try to make this one better? Your idea of perfection is what is lacking. Mind numb zombies doesn't sound very perfect to me, or to anyone, except other zombies. It is the power to be that we want, the ability to know is only the bait to make us look.

actually you have to compare it to the Army
life is boot camp -- all the ugly stuff happens here.
it prepares us for the real thing whatever that is -- which if you know about the military (except in wartime) after boot camp it's all a pretty good coast.
so I know I wont persuade you but I did get a part of my point out.

I'm not sure, but I think part of your problem
is that you are viewing heaven in the incorrect perspective. When those who are going to heaven go there, we won't be in our "human form", rather spirit form. So of course we won't have need for "human" things. No pain; physically, mentally or emotionally. No ego. No physical things. It's hard to comprehend "spiritual" things with the "natural" mind. I think that's why God's word tells us not to lean on our own understanding.
