Coming from the region delivering the bad news

i can relate to alot. but i try my best not to follow up the news on the Iraq side as i have to. it seems repetitive, i remember times that i was more addicted and bought all local and foreign newspapers, cut and paste in a journal of mine, it was a healthy educational period. but i moved to other information, i moved to religious information and dived further and further, then moved to other information.. related to my field of work.. knowledge in the sense of being mood-dependent...

i must say i have a really weird habit, every time i am in a relationship, i learn everything related to my partner, the background, the interest, the news behind them, their history, so that's one  way i gain knowledge. but i don't filter a thing. i eat both junk and healthy food in that matter.

Robdon
I read an immense amount and listen to the radio, often at the same time but I am selective about it. I go for quality. I do enjoy those rare times when I get away from the news. I usually take vacations where there is no TV and I must make an effort to get online. I need to know what is going on in the world - news - and I devour good analytical articles. I don't regard celebrities as real news. I am the only person who buys up to four newspapers at my local shop.
Am I overloaded probably but I am happily so. The only thing that makes me unhappy is when the imformation provided is poor and does not answer my questions.

Wiley recently posted about tranquility. He quoted someone (I can't remember the name) that said, "If you seek tranquility, do less."  Information comes at us from every angle, much of it worthless advertising.  Sometime less is better.  There's so much bad information and double speak that we often wallow in confusion rather that walk with clarity.

The news tends to emphasize
the negative and leave people with the impression that the world is a much worse place than it really is.
