"prove all things." the Apostle Paul tells us.

Janes,
I know I'm late for the debate (didn't know I could do poetry did you?), but I think the problem, which you outlined very well, is in a nutshell, that some people continue to lean on their own understanding, when clearly scripture tells us not to, and that the simplicity of faith confounds the wise.

either god is or isn't
some people see god some people see a different god some people don't see god that's all it is.

I have no problem with the idea of faith. Everyone needs to have it and we all put our faith into different things. That variety of faith is part of what helps us to be able to grow. We need to have opposing views points so that we can go and find common ground, because most often what is best for all is a middle area and not one side or the other. The real problems come from those who can not see this and run around trying to force others to share the sam faith they themselves have. They can not see the strength in the different faiths and only believe their faith to be of any significance.

We as individuals with different views of the world are far more stronger than if we were to all agree on one solid view.

Hey Kooka,

I'm not easily offended.  I have reviewed some of your older posts. . . and still like you!  I am always willing to consider others' opinions, even though my reaction might be: pure disbelief, a chuckle or chortle at some inane comment, a sensation of pleasure, momentary anger, or amazement that some of the people who write these comments are actually on the outside of the asylum and not housed within.

Regarding the article on evolution, yes it's very well written and provides an excellent explanation as to why creation supposedly does not make sense.  I found one significant problem with it, and that is humanity's attempt to explain God.  I will always believe in the God of the Bible, who is omniscient, omnipotent, omnipresent and eternal -- Who was and is and is for evermore.  Who can begin to comprehend that?  Not me.  But I accept it. . . on faith.

Damn that whole faith concept.  It is such a stumbling block for so many people.

I have pondered the idea of all that you talk about at the beginning of the is post. Go here:

http://www.freethoughtdebater.com/FComplexityProbability.htm

There you will find a very well written and well thought out section on evolution. It might help for you to see just how much sense it really makes. I found it to be a very amazingly accurate article that fit in to much of what I believe in life. It might help you to understand some of my views better.

Tomorrow I will write a post that talk more about what I see as how God would have to be if there really is a God.

You might also try to spend some time looking at my past posts. I have written many times on my views of God and such. Try to be offended by them though. I do know that there have been times that some of the Christian Bloggers here got me to the point where I was more or less telling them off and I was not being very diplomatic about it. I have tried to tone it down recently, but there are still some rather harsh posts of mine out there.

And I think you for the compliments. There was another Christian blogger who decided that I was 'mildly retarded' for my views. Some of which were that he needed to show integrity and not lie about things. I ma glad that he has left bloggit, at least I am hoping that is what happened. We have not seen he here for a little while now.

Yup, yup, yup!
Yup, you make an excellent point!  I'm all for getting up off my duff, working hard and taking responsibility for my actions.  Afterall, God did give us an intellect with which to think for ourselves and do for ourselves.  When we forget to acknowledge our Creator for the gifts and abilities He's given us, that's when we fall into trouble.  Roofpig, I'm withya, man!

I think the road I take is that yes, I believe in God, but I don't necessarily "need" Him to get through my daily routine.  I know He's there and I'm thankful for what he's done for me and given to me, but in the midst of a crisis I've found that repeating, "God, please help me" doesn't do a whole lot.  You need to get up off your duff and take charge of things.

I hope that doesn't sound terrible or anything, because it wasn't meant to.
