Right
And it would not have been if Bush hadn't gone in there the way he did.

I still have yet to hear a logical reason as to why Bush went to Iraq when we had not finished in Afghanistan yet. It weakened our forces and left us open to all of the problems we are having now. If Bush would have waited and been smart, we would be in much better shape now, possible even out of Iraq already if we had a real plan going in. It really seems to me that Bush wants us over there as long as possible doing nothing more than causing problems. Even with the WMD, there was no sign that Iraq was any immediate threat. Just keeping pressure on him should have been enough until we were ready to be able to go after them in the correct way.

As I said, I feel no safer right now than I did right after 9/11. Dealing with Iraq has not helped our safety at all. It has just made us more enemies who are out there and free and able to get us.

Also, you might want to pay more attention as to where you post your comments. Not sure how a comment about my political blog ended up in my religious blog. Confuses thing a bit because it is not talking about the post it is supposedly commenting on.

9/11 and war in Iraq

Of course we haven’t decided that all people from the Middle East are terrorists. What we have decided is that state leaders who harbor and fund radical Islamist terrorists, as Saddam Hussein did, are a threat to our nation—especially if they posses weapons of mass destruction, which we believed Saddam Hussein did.

As for what our current fighting in Iraq has to do with 9/11, consider this: Who attacked us on 9/11? Al Qaeda. Who is the number one terrorist leader we are fighting in Iraq right now ? Abu Musab al Zarqawi. What organization does he lead? Al Qaeda.

We may disagree over whether or not Iraq was the central front of the war on terror before we invaded. But one thing I think everyone agrees on is that, whether or not it was the central front before, it sure as hell is now.

Freedom of Thought

is one of the finer attributes Atheist have, as opposed to the Thought Dictators of the Christian Faith.  To be able to examine the possibilities, even that a god might have the capacity to create the complex Earth or influence it natural development, is proof that the mind of man is capable of extrordinary imagination.  Thus, it is man that is the creator on Earth and it is our responsibility to evaluate our creative abilities and direct them towards the best results possible.  It is up to Man to end wars, hunger, strife, dispare, homelessness and violence against ourselves and others.  Jesus, by all accouts, was a man with extrordinary imagination and desire for us to incorporate our creative ability to serve each other and create "heaven on Earth" through tolerance and understanding and seeking knowledge of our capacity to heal and care for each other.  His uniqueness is not exclusively his, but shared by many before him who sought to encourage mankind to reach for unity and peace and put aside selfish ambition and lust for power over others.  The idea of a God has been around for all of written history and before -- but not just a male god--there was once a time when the female had the same values and reverence amonge the living, and recognizing that can bring us to a fuller understanding of our existance and our nature.  I've written a poem to reflect this I posted on my blog today, I hope you get a chance to read it.

Peace,

Freerain

If God exist, he is clearly has to have a determinate character.

Perhaps - and this is just a thought - God did create it to sustain life so He could sit back and watch how everything plays out.  That would explain free will.  He makes the Earth self-running then gives us free will and watches to see what happens.

Of course, again, if he's omniscient, He would know how everything ends, so this theory would have to assume that God is not, indeed, omniscient.

Oh the possibilities...
