Well written. I was one of the country cousins who waited anxiously for my city cousins to visit. Esspecially if we were slaughtering something. I loved the looks on their faces. A kid farm, thats something else. Your mother in law is lucky to have you.

My cousins hated me, I never knew why. I never send them Christmas cards, though, and I still hold Lori responsible for ruining my shoes!

well at least there's help or not. Your story about the being left in the field, reminded me of when my cousins took me up on top of the hay trailer, we were talking, getting along just fine, then the said they'd be right back and climbed down. They pulled the tarp over the trailer with me stuck on top and left me there to scream and wet my pants, until grandpa came and rescued me. I still don't like them to this day.
