Guess Reaganesque
wanted to be sure I saw that. It was a response to a comment I left him. I don't know why he left it here instead of emailing me.

The 90's

Actually, no, I didn't have my mind on the Republican Congress or the stock market explosion because of the internet. I was thinking along the lines of the 90's--- when al Quaida launched 6 attacks against the United States (the Marines in Yemen, FIRST BOMBING OF THE WTC, Khobar Towers, American embassies in Kenya and Tanzania, and the USS Cole), which went virtually unresponded too (this is all in the 9/11 commission report)... Or when al Quaida planned the most horrific attack on U.S. soil... Or when we had 4 changes to get Osama Bin Laden and foiled our own plans-- once cancelling the plan, once tipping off Yemen, once refusing for an offer to get Osama Bin Laden, and once hitting the wrong place (also in the commission report)... Or the recession, which began under the Clinton administration, and had been predicted long before by economists and conservatives... Or the massive military budget slashes, in which 700,000 active duty Armed Forces personnel and almost 300,000 Reserves were laid off by his administration and left us with weeker forces... Or the preventive "wall" that was put in place by Jamie Gorelick and his attorney general, Janet Reno, in order to protect him-- which made it impossible for the CIA and FBI to share information about terrorism intelligence (they are faulted in the 9/11 commission report)-- which came to an end, thankfully, under the PATRIOT Act... Or the 1994 Framework Agreement, which even Madeline Albright admits to being a failure, which resulted in Kim Jung Il developing nuclear weapons.. Or the failed "Peace Negotiations" between Clinton and Yasser Arafat, which resulted in thousands of slaughtered Jews in terrorist attacks in Israel... Or the failure to do anything in Haiti after the U.N. botched it as usual... Or cutting and running in Bosnia which emboldened al Quaida-- after we cut and ran in Bosnia, Osama Bin Laden sent out a public statement declaring, "once again the U.S. has shown it is nothing more than a paper tiger, and with one blow ran in defeat"... Or the fact that he committed a crime in front of the entire country and became the second president in historty to get impeached.

No president can be blamed for everything, but to deny some of Bill Clinton's most obvious failures in office, because we 'felt safe' at the time, is just silly.

Thanks for stopping by
