My deep, dark secret. . .
I suscribe to
The Writer's Almanac through Minnesota Public Radio (online newsletter). I cull from it every day, sometimes googling and adding other info. There is also a poem every day, sometimes notes from Garrison Keillor, recipes, and jokes. I'm glad you're addicted to my blog, though!

Wow, with an additional wow on the side. . .
I'm getting addicted to looking at these. First of all, I don't know how you're keeping up with the b-days - second, you have such interesting things to write about them!
Thank you!

I'll have to keep an eye open for those if I hit up the library one of these days!

I thought of you as I posted this one. And me, too--People we know!! Finally! I like Stine, read quite a few when my daughter had them around. Dune is huge, isn't it? I probably never will get to that, but I'll check out the American Splendor movie.
If you like Stine, have you read some of William Sleator's books? They are also for teens, but I found them interesting and page-turning, and the stories have a bite to them. I remember Singularity and Interstellar Pig. I think he writes for younger children, too, but there are several young adult novels. In fact, I think I will get a couple from our library and read them again.

Finally, people I know! I used to read the Goosebumps books and I think I still have some somewhere. I haven't Dune yet, but I do own it. It's on my "list." And as for Pekar, American Splendor was such a good movie. I really want to get a hold of those comic books - excuse me, graphic novels. ;-)
