I would write to my 21 year old self!
David,
In August of 1982, "------" and you are going your mother's birthday party. You will decide to go get some ice cream just before the party starts. Don't do that! In fact don't even get into the car. Just stay at your mother's house, and walk "-----" home when it's over. Just don't get on the road, please!
You are just gonna have to trust me on this one!
Yourself!

mine would probably read as...
Dear Phoenix...don't change a thing...life is good...yes there will be plenty of ups and downs but all your experiences, good and bad will add up into making you the person who you'll be happy to meet in the mirror every morning 20 years from now!

Good advice to yourself, Jimmy, but don't you think about what
you may not have LEARNED from your addiction days and NOW have the knowledge to apply to your Now-A-Days? Plus stuff your son can learn from your mistakes?

Man, Kelli, this just seems so negative!
I'm sorry about this! Listen, I know it's hard to see/understand right now, but I could only hope that your trust issues will eventually be resolved. Specific occurences happen within our lives for
certain reasons, though we cannot/do not chose the
exact situation, we
do choose our challenges and obsticles that we enevidably will encounter.

apply to Juliard. take up the piano again. Could come in handy, like typewriting. Don't be lazy and apply to one school. You're ready to come home again. The bums are waiting. So is James Lipton. tg

Shared day 1 and every day until I could recite it by heart!
Dear Laroux,
You can do anything you set your mind to. In order to know what you will want to do you must educate yourself. Know that you are worthy of all the wonderful things that will be presented to you. Know that you are responsible for making wonderful things happen for yourself. Happiness is not magic or a knight in shining armor or a gift. Happiness is in your heart, soul and mind, built inch by inch by you. Everything takes time. Have patience. Be diligent. Work hard. Love and respect yourself.
I Love You~Me

Spitfire--given to me every year that I know how to read!
Dear Kelli,
Everything you ever believe about life, about people, about yourself, will never be true. Be careful and keep yourself guarded. DO NOT EVER TRUST ANYONE, no matter how much you feel it is right. Think before you speak, think before you do. It is completely possible for you to get lost, to loose yourself so be careful in allowing yourself to indulge in anything that life offers. If you do too much of a good thing for very long, you will hate it. Truth breeds contempt from those who will not see.
