I haven't noticed insults. A lot of people have complained about the lack of spats blogit. I joined at the tail end of it. There was always something interesting to read that's for sure. Not like now. It's kind of boring.

its not only religious and politics it is also other blogs in other catorgory...it seems everywhere I read somebody is arguing...I am all for freedom of speech and all that.....but I don't like it when things go past that and people get personal and insulting........take care

Well, in spite of recent devolution of civility ...
I will continue to write Bad Poetry ( Yes, true, a dirty job indeed, but somebody's got to do it!)

I'm new here and I've dabbled my toes in some religious debates because I have strong opinions. But I backed out when things just kept going over the same circles over and over. No sense beating that dead horse. Although, I feel debate is healthy and the idea of concensus for the idea of "geting along" detrimental, I abhor personal attacks.

It's been like this for as long as I've been here, to some degree. Actually the current round is milder than I'd expect considering how close the election is, or maybe since I've not been around as much lately, I've missed something. I feel voicing opinions is our right, but when it gets hateful and ugly, I bow out and go write a poem or something. Meandering down love's myraid paths is a good antidote.

Over the last three of four months
Blogit has changed a lot. If someone isn't fighting with another member then it is about who is screwing who. Once I spent hours on Blogit and read many post but now I don't enjoy as many of the post as I once did. I guess I am finding some post boring lately or maybe it is PMS that has been going on for months. Keep reading writing and smiling.

SYMPH - I have a feeling that as long as we talk politics or religion or
opinions there will be arguing. Some people really like to argue. It is entertainment for them. I have even known a few people who will take an opposite opinion of what they really think just so they can argue. I have a tendency to back off from those and go on to something else. It isn't that my beliefs are not strong or just as important as someone elses, I just don't like to be on the firing line.

I realize that if someone says something derogatory about me (commonly known on the streets as a dis) that I should be mature enough to ignore it, but it is human nature to want to one-up the dis........
