Ex
I came up with that based on a song by Ray Stevens that came out in the late 1980s titled
If Jesus Came Tomorrow, Would He Wear A Rolex On His TV Show? which was during the time that Jim Bakker and Jimmy Swaggart were getting busted for their "improprieties."
From a pure standpoint I would prefer that the phrase "and neither the twain shall meet" apply to religion and politics. Unfortunately that is not the case. We have a large number of people who make very strong links between what they see as their faith and the party for whom they vote.
I thought that if there were such a bumpersticker, it would cause at least some folks to think for a second about what's going on, and that is something that is sorely lacking in our society.

It would be obscene to use Jesus as a political tool, not that that stops
some people from doing so. Not to say that Jesus would not have political opinions, but he is supposed to be above politics. Still, Jesus has always struck me as utopian socialist and pacifist, if I had to approximate his politics. But I would not like to see anyone use that as a basis for promoting a candidate.

New or not, I love it! He would probably surprise a lot of his followers.
