Greetings, AM!

Even if only in our memories, our grandmothers were the best of everything! Mine made the best fried chicken and cinnamon rolls in the world - her coffee on Sunday evenings before the drive home is still one of my fondest memories. And made-from-scratch angel food cakes for birthdays, and pan-fried minute steaks, and fresh garden peas, and frozen Milky Ways, and and and..............!!!

Your poem put me right in the moment. Is the lemonade ready yet?

To this day, they delight me...
One of my fondest memories of growing up, they are still a wonderment to me. Though I cannot bring myself to call them by their Texas "lightning bug" name, I am excited each spring when I see the first of hundreds of them in the ditches of the road past our house.

TexasDMWT,
remember the fireflies flickering across that cornfield by the upper dam...fantastic display of nature!  -Ted
