Great post and very interesting, too. You do bring up a point here, though.

.I believe all of the forces within our realm (and others) are natural; regardless. "SUPER"natural is a double facsimile of such a term because it isn’t “un-natural” forces from ours or other realms, it is all natural universal forces taking effect. There is nothing supernatural about natural forces.

I do understand, however, that it may be difficult for those whom have not personally experienced such things for themselves. As I have done so since I can remember, I suppose I would be a bit skeptical of some of the things I have experienced....though many of said experiences I have never even written about.

witty
funny i just comment about our "within", and frequently talk about my "within", that I can feel but have no words to explain.  It is as old as time.

I know a lot of people group tarot cards, astrology and so on together with far less complex divination methods such as reading dice and dominoes, but they are actually very different.  In the case of the tarot, as I said earlier it is best when used as a tool to access the subconscious mind.  I'd be interested to know how you feel about that and your views generally with regard to telepathy and mind communication?  Although I don't discount psychic phenomena (far from it), I think a lot of it is due not to anything 'supernatural', but communication between minds.  As I said before, I find that in itself quite fascinating.

Ody
Right, it is called the 'Force'. Yoda explains how it all works in The Empire Strikes Back. Greatest movie ever.

Hmmm..
So Ariala sees a “universal mind” (God) as sort of a cosmic network and freerain sees the potential for us all to be connected to it wirelessly (conscience). Sounds familiar to me.

witty woman
I know that fortune telling, astrology and tarot cards are not all the same thing, but they fall into the same group in regards to what they are. Each one is supposedly a way to try and figure out what you future will be and what actions you should take. And each one is very, very vague with what is says about the people.

While some may consider astrology a science, I am positive it is far from. That is one of those really off beliefs. But that is something we can save for later debate. I do promise to try and get back to that at some point in the near future. I'll go into the need to do double blind testing and the other aspects needed before it should be considered a science and taken seriously.

okay
This may sounds a little off, but it will be the main idea in my next post here. I do believe in the brain waves and the power of the unconscious mind, but I do not consider them to be supernatural. I will try to explain this all in my next post.

I do believe in frequencies, brain waves and the psychic connection.
I've written a lot about how this works in relations to the new physics.  We are all connected and live in a holographic universe.  We are connected to the Universal Mind -- and can access information about each other and things as needed (like in remote viewing.)  All of us are capable.  Some just have a more keen awareness of their abilities.

what ever could be "super" natural?

All things that exist, exist in nature and are natural.  Just like organic food is no different than other foods--all foods are "organic"  some have added chemicals, but they are also part of nature and not "unnatural."  Likewise, things unseen or unexplainable by physical methodology (as we know it now) are not supernatural.  We just don't know how do define it.  Who could have understood radio waves, light waves, or even computer data before it was discovered?

I am telepathic.  This isn't unnatural or supernatural.  We are just begining to understand brain waves and how they work.  Who is to say that brain waves are limited to our own brain mass and not transmissible to others?  If thought can be transmitted, as I have experienced, than perhaps the thoughts those living and dead are still circling the globe and being recieved by the powerful machinery of our brain.  Emotion is a real element of living things--humans have learned to translate emotion into words as well as non-verbal physical symbols--animals do the same thing, so in a way, they "talk" to humans through emotional transmission which we easily translate to words.

The idea of a Supreme being is taking man and putting him beneath something, to make him inferior and fear the unknown.  It isn't useful but for those who want power over others and dictate thought and that is what stifles discovery of the unknown and bring about change.

I like your arguement, but I think there is more to existance than what we can see, hear, touch, taste or smell--we can also feel and imagine.

Peace,

FR

I'm one of the atheists with spiritual beliefs.  I also read tarot cards and have dabbled in astrology and quite a few other divinatory methods,  I hope you're not classing either of these as "fortune-telling"?  Astrology is considered a science by many now and tarot cards were never intended to be used as fortune-telling devices, although I admit some readers do use them that way and give the rest of us a bad name, just as fundamental christians give the mainstream christians a bad name.  Tarot cards actually go very deep and they are ideal tools for accessing the subconscious and discovering what is hidden deep within a person.  I am a great believer in the power of the subconscious mind and I think it has a lot to do with what is classed as pyschic phenomena.  That in itself is fascinating to me.  I have been able to tell people things that there is simply NO WAY I could have known.  Whether it is coming from  the cards or 'spirit' or their subconscious doesn't really matter to me, they are all equally fascinating.  In many ways, the latter is the most fascinating.  Ever since I was a child I was telling people that the next stage in evolution is telepathy and mind communication and I still believe that.  The evidence is all around us - it's already well underway.

Kooka, I agree with you that there are no ghosts...and I certainly don't
believe in tarot cards, astrology and all that other nonsense.  I do believe in angels and demons, however, and think all supernatural occurences come from one or the other.  The Bible, which I know you don't believe, says the dead are dead and DO NOT return to haunt of visit homes.  Demons do, though.

aardvark asked you that
question because chapter two in "Miracles" by C.S. Lewis sets forth the Ody/Kooka argument, but specifies the sides as the Naturalist and the Supernaturalist (ya'll better catch up on your reading). As you can guess Ody (that's me) is the Supernaturalist side. Kooka, had you answered differently, based upon the argument of Lewis, you would have been opening yourself up for the existence of God. Hmmm, I'm rather impressed at your answer. Also this is very well written. But beware, Lewis is not through with you yet!
