Now I'll have to look up your kitty. I know fur can act as insulation against heat, at least that's what they say about dog fur. I know the Sphynx cat, which has no fur, needs to be kept in a warm environment, which sounds plausible, but I don't know about the opposite: heavily or densely furred.

I love that you are doing this!
My cat, Felicity, is what they call Louisiana feral, and she has similar characteristics--I always wondered what dense fur does for a cat in such hot climes--maybe there is a realtionship there.
