"A Stitch In Time Saves Nine!" Ben Franklin

I can understand how a company wouldn't want its employees calling in "sick" whenever they want to stay home and watch daytime TV or something (even though, if you're given so many paid sick leave days, it shouldn't be anyone's business how you use them but your own--though a prudent person would surely save those days in case of becoming truly sick or having something really important to do, such as go to a school conference), but they should be smart enough to realize that not having you there for a day or two in order to get over a bug is certainly better than not having you for lots of days because your bug has gotten worse due to not taking off to rest.  And, of course, it's better to have one person out sick than a whole office because that person has hung around spreading germs.

Seems to me as if there's a considerable amount of short-sightedness going on there.

Hugs!
AJ

I can appreciate your comment
Coming from a registered nurse I can appreciate your comments more than most people who would just weigh in on the subject to have something to say. When we are sick we need to stay home. I don't care about any leave policy at work!

Isn't it sad?  I know I get sick from people coming to work sick, sneezing and coughing all over the place.  and I work in a hospital!  Nosocomial infections anyone?
