Readership

Popularity rankings for each of your blogs can be viewed under you member  profile.  To view your profile, click on the link for your name at the end of any post you've written.

Blog popularity rankings, as shown on each member profile, are based on the number of unique readers each day for the past seven days. We believe this is a useful indicator of the value of a blog, since it benefits blogs that consistently attract readers.

"Unique readers" means that no matter how often someone reads a blog, they are only counted once when the rankings are calculated. The purpose is to ensure fair rankings by allowing each person to only "vote" once.

To see the number of readers who have viewed you blog you may wish to add a counter.  We don't currently offer counters, although it is on our list of future improvements. In the meantime, you can add a counter from another site, which will provide an estimate.

To add a counter:
* Click "Write" (in the top-right corner)
* Click "Edit" next to your blog's name
* Click "Change template"
* Click "Custom" and click "Save changes"
* You will see a text box with a lot of text. Scroll down until you see this
text:
    "<a href="<$BlogURL$>">Main</a>
    "</p>"
* Click after the "</p>" and type or paste the counter code
