Paganism
Why would you even bother with traditional churches? You are right in what you say about most of them. What I can't believe is how someone with their head IN their butt can criticize someone for not getting OFF their butt. Halloween...that would be laughable if it weren't so sad. Father's Word is complete and very specific, "Study to show thyself approved...".

Hallowe'en as Americans know it came to America from Ireland in the mid 1800's, but the origins of 'trick or treating' are thought to date back much further than that, to 9th century Europe. This was a Catholic festival known as 'souling'. It can even be taken further back than that, to the original Pagan festival of Samhain. The actual term 'trick or treat', however, didn't emerge until the 1930's. What this comes down to is that Hallowe'en has its roots in both Paganism and Christianity, in the same way as the majority of so-called Christian festivals do. Christmas and Easter were, of course, originally Pagan festivals.

This is a great post.....and I agree with everything you say. One thing I wanted to say about Wicca, is that most christians think it's evil, and to me, it's funny that it's a faith that supports a woman as it's highest entity. Doesn't that just totally blow christian beliefs out of the water? Wicca actually makes a lot of sense. Anyway, this was great
