Oh Abuelita, you are SOOOOOO cute.
I had such a great picture of you in that wonderful raincoat. I love to play in the rain, although we don't get that much out here. Me, you, Cass, Lady K....puddles, doggies, and cookies. That sounds like a day for sure. Too bad there is no teleporting. :)

Oh my. I used to call those sort of rains Gully Washers when I was living out west, here they're not so prosaic and just call them floods. Dangerous things. I hope you were able to save your kiln -- oh that would have been a disaster to say the very least. Nowadays it seems that people think of rain as a nuisance, not a gift.

maj, I'm British, Scottish, Irish and Only God Knows American Mutt.
Those rainy countries' genes usually get really practical in the rain, but I had been locked up for too long and had to go out and act childish, quick before it becomes a latter day lifestyle in a few years...dementia cometh.
That trucker wave was absolutely Spectacular and proved just what an idiot I really am. I sure do wish that someone had caught it all on video. I spent the last two days vaccuuming with my little Green Machine, sucking water out of the car's interior. Now, the windows are open again, trying to dry the whole thing out. Smells like twenty year old cat now....never did before the rain. Sigh......

ca88andra, I was just sad that the grandchildren weren't with me and now
I'm sad that you weren't there either! Rain is good, unless you live on the East Coast right now...I prefer the desert now, though I worry about the huge trees around town most months.

I'm from British stock
I'd have been organizing a salvage operation and looking out through my windows, maybe go onto the porch.
Then, again, I'm half Arkie/Okie; maybe I'da jist set back in my rocker and let it all go t'Hell an lissened t' the rain in the downpipes.
Good on you.
