"They"
The "they" I referred to was a black man and a white man who mugged the driver. Race does not enter in to this or anything else. I know "sorry" people from both races. Don't try that crap with me. Both of these men lived in the same apartment complex behind the store where the driver was mugged. You make it sound as though poor people have no common sense or any sense at all. I know that there are many who can't read but please stop with the belittle talk. I have to explain these things to people every day at work to be certain that they understand and give them information on who they can contact if they don't. Give it a rest E.

Illiteracy...
I guess Steelerman has never had much contact with the endemically poor:  so many of them cannot read functionally enough to follow directions on a soup can, let alone a contract.  And those kind of employers know that.  I had a student attempt suicide when "welfare to work" left her with nothing...not even enough to buy food.

Steelerman
What "they" are you referring to?  Might it be blacks?

He Signed.

He should have thought about what he was signing or asked someone about it before he did. There are a huge number of companies out there who have workman's comp. program's set up. And, yes, there are many other companies I am certain he could have got a job with. We have a truck driver at work now who is on workman's compensation due to being mugged while delivering gas from a criminal who was out for money to support his drug habit. I guess welfare was not enough to support that. Funny thing is they have enough get-up-and-go to mug someone but do not want to work anywhere.

Getting back to this fellow, too bad for him. Always read what you will be signing. And find a good company to work for because there are many out there.
