Another Spiritual Atheist
I stopped believing in God when I was 11 years old.  It was almost like a revelation (the Christians would probably call it my "Mount Sinai").  I was waiting at traffic lights to go across the road to school one morning and into my head, for no reason at all, popped the words "God doesn't exist". I spent all day thinking about this and realised that I couldn't think of a single reason to doubt that statement and an atheist was born.  This was almost 40 years ago and I haven't changed my mind since.  I have 5 children and I've never tried to sway them one way or the other, but they've all had similar feelings at about the same age.  Maybe it's the advent of adolescence, when we start to question things we've taken for granted as children.  It's quite obvious to me that "God" is man-made; although I can see the reasons why this would be, I cannot comprehend why intelligent people continue to believe it.  Having said that, I am very much a spiritual person; there is more to spirituality than things that go 'bump' in the night.

Add me to the list of spiritual people that find it difficult to believe in the Christian concept of God.

Ariala
I knew he was down there.
I guess we will have to wait a little bit for any comment from him on this.
I am sure they will be some here to take up his slack and defend his views.

TOO MANY CHRISTIANS
are those who "say 'Lord, Lord', but do not the things that I say."
They take on the cloak of Christianity, but are not of a spiritual mindset.
I've known a lot of people for whom Christianity was not a healing, but a harm. One who converted and "believed in the Lord" killed himself.
Others have just mouthed all the usual phrases, then turned around and treated people wrongly.
Check Yeshua's statements regarding those who think they have it made against those "less spiritual" who actually have it mad.

I doubt you'll be hearing from him anytime soon. He's in Pensecola where
the hurricane hit and is probably without electricity.
