At 12, 14 and 16 all of my boys are able to clean the house, cook basic meals, wash dishes, bring in the washing and sort it and iron their clothes if they have to. I said they were able to do all that - I didn't say they actually did it!!!

Saturday Box

That is one I haven't heard before.  With my oldest, though, it would have to be a Saturday room.  He doesn't care about much enough to earn it back. 

My girl has been putting away the bibs since she could walk.  It is one of her favorite self-imposed chores.  Also, at that age, if you will give them a duster, they are quite happy to dust and will even use it to sweep the hardwood floors.  She is protective of her duster and has only shared it with her best friend—Fischer, the dog next door.  It is kind of bent now, but still works.  Not very well, but it keeps them occupied.
