This past year with my husband's health issues and few of my own, I have learned not to take anything for granted.  "Maybe saying Counting my blessings was not accurate, but I am thankful that I have had the career that I have, that my family is healthy, and that when I am feeling down that I am able to pull myself up by the boot straps and go on.  There are many people out there today that are not able to do that.  I have made many mistakes and I am thankful that I have been able to learn from them and move on without repeating them.  Thanks for reading!!

Strick - I do remember who helped me two years ago to get off my ass
and write - it was Art Hunter, the previous editor of The News Democrat. And I thank him every week. But I am lax in doing this type of thing for the most part. I'm not a "count your blessings" type of person - I cringe when someone says that. I don't know why - probably need more therapy. I tend to count my mistakes and be thankful there aren't more. And see if I can get a column out of them!:)
