What worked for me
Accepting criticism is not easy, and it is even tough on me if I receive it from people I don't trust. The best way I've found to accept it more graciously and less personally is to find a critiquing group, build a relationship, and give your best effort. And, for goodness sake, avoid those who spend more time giving two second critiques in return for your detailed critiques. 9 times out of 10, it doesn't get any better. IF they are too busy today, they will be too busy to do it right tomorrow.

Celeste - Kenneth Tynan said: A critic is a man who knows the way
but can't drive the car.
I think of that whenever I read a scathing criticism - not just of my work, but of others. When I calm down, I look at the critique objectively - or I run it through the shredder and burn the critic in effigy.
