she was awake during the procedure, yes. The technology is great today -- it's very routine -- hardly a scar remains on her.  Good music choices by the way.  Both births were amazing, but there was something ethereal about being home with our second one. I've posted about it, too -- forgive the shameless self-promotion -- and it was just incredible.  Yes it's painful and if you don't want to do it don't.  We're kind of hippie freaks, I should warn you, and that's not for everyone. If you're comfortable with a C-section, okay, but it is surgery and that's never a joke.  tg

tbgroucho...

hmm..  she threw up??  was she awake?  i just think the sounds (i'll ask to wear some head phones and listen to chris isaak and elvis) and the pressure will be too much for me... i mean... i almost threw up watching my son get stiches...  and almost threw up when the doc removed a mole by putting some solution on to burn it off.. i'm such a baby!!

my doc just said that a few years after my son (back in 1987) that they recommend VBACs.. but with technology changing and all the new advances, over the past few years they think it's safer to have a second c-section..  i'm not sure i mind too much though..  i dont know i could stomach a natural birth either..

aaaaaahhhh the dilemas... ha ha ha ha...

no light on 2 c sections
my mother had all three of us that way but I wouldn't ask her about it (long story -- read my midnight blogs if you want). My Graceful One did throw up with the C-section she went through -- the meds just reacted that way. Wish I could help with what happens with numero 2 but we had Juliet at home, V-bac.  Why won't your doctor do it?  It may be worth a second opinion.  tg
