Discernment v. judgment
I just read the postings of an Unconventional Christian from Participation to Apathy and Endurance and I can see that you are a person after my own heart: I struggle to define Christ's values and learn discernment, and especially to distinguish between discernment and judgment. For most of my life, I have lived with the laissez faire cultural values of modern America that says anything goes; if it feels good, do it; and if you're not being directly impacted, then what happens around you is not your business and it doesn't harm anyone. I am having to learn a whole different set of values now that I have become a Christian in midlife, and it puts me in opposition to much of what I see around me. So, it is empowering and good to read a fellow traveler's writings and feelings on the same subject. Way to go!
