Brian, any idea why my blog seems to remain at the top?

Popularity Ranking

Blog popularity rankings, as shown on your member profile next to your blog names, are based on the number of unique readers each day for the past seven days, and are calculated daily. So it should take up to two days for your ranking to show up as long as you have been read by at least one Blogit member.

This benefits blogs that are updated regularly and consistently attract readers. "Unique readers" means that no matter how often someone reads a blog, they are only counted once when the rankings are calculated. The purpose is to ensure fair rankings by allowing each person to only "vote" once.

Secondly, Most Popular Today is based on the past 24 hours, so it changes rapidly. For instance, say that all of the readers read a certain blog 23 hours ago. After two hours, that blog will not even appear in Most Popular Today, since no one will have read it in the past 24 hours.

Hope that helps!
