So this translation of the word of God that I am following is wrong? God allowed this to happen? But if it is his word, then would he not make sure that it got translated correctly? Make it a bit hard to believe that any translation of the Bible could be the word of God if God allows for errors to get translated into it.
Also, there are hundreds of thousands who will tell you that they have experienced the same kind of things through pagan rituals, various forms of voodoo and witch craft and who knows how many from of healing rituals. part of being able to be healed in those way is faith and that leads me to believe it is more the person rather than the higher powers. I would bet none of those ways will work for healing me because I have faith in none of them

NIV translation. Christ did not say that all who believe can do all those things. All believers have spiritual gifts. I have personally not experienced any of those gifts except healing. My healing was a restoration of my mind, so it is much more subtle and most people do not agree with me. You can hear testimonies of all kinds of people who have experienced these things. If you are willing to listen.

If we get powers from God according to the teachings of Jesus, then
what's with all the insinuations of witchcraft that I've seen in our world, such that I was made aware of such things first from
Christians before I ever understood anything about powers at all?

I agree with you...
to the point that it will not work unless you believe. On that note, kooka, I have often wondered the same thing.
