- Go to Tensions Strained Between American Muslims And The FBI
Not Police State, but Homeland Security....I know that I feel more secure
when American citizens of other roots (ie. not Caucasian) are harrassed into hellish distraction. Surely, we all do.
I cannot believe that Homeland Security practices and principles might 'cause' some people to decide to be what they are accused of being or made to feel. The Iraquis tortured by us and then released within Iraq surely haven't taken our 'good intentions' in the wrong way and haven't been taught nor learned to hate us, have they, not enough to volunteer to blow something up, have they? Surely not!
I remember my grandmother saying that 'people don't always learn the lessons that you think that you are teaching them'.
Thanks, alt for another thinking man's post here.

Those Last Sentences...
...feel like the nub of this situation.
Lots of raids. No prosecutions. Everyone is a suspect.
Is it me, or does this sound like part of a description of a police state?
