Yes, man-boy. It's really too bad that the wonderful influences of
sincere Christians were not able to take root in my life.  I am instead forced to survive in a world of thoughtlessness, and it is truly impossible to remain the only thoughtful person in a room full of "heathens."  Sometimes, the scientific community has it's way.  I suppose the one's on top wanted an employee, not a sage.

you-look-fabulous you are right
I know now in my heart that I was not made for the cut and thrust of commercialism or the nastines of gossip-mongering and judgementalism. I avoid those behaviors in myself and others. I make no comment on them except possibly to my children. I am meant to be an example by my actions not my words. But I do try to remember to make sure that what does come out of my mouth is not defiling. Now, if only I could really start treating my body like a temple, rather than an amusement park!

Yes, the problem may sometimes arise for a sincere follower of the
kind and generous teachings of Jesus when a person's family, who happened to be a bunch of wild boars at heart, resent their family member's transformation.  I personally, had a jealous sister.  She would make it her point to destroy any attachment I made outside of her, so Jesus need not take it personally that she succeeded in making me out to be a lunatic when I discovered his wonderful ways.

A Christian is

one who follows Christianity.

A follower of Jesus is anyone changed by Jesus, whether they know it or not.

"If you love me, keep my commandments"
He said that, too.

Hi westwend.

I humbly suggest that I am a Christian-a follower of Jesus even though I pay no heed to the magic and mythology that has been promoted by the various churches claiming authority. The folks adhering to those dogma and tenets may be Christian. But they have no right to say that a person such as I am not.

I have started a new blog in religion and spirituality. I hope to keep it simple and free of the crimonious debate that seems to erupt so easily when religious toes are stepped upon.
