Go figure.  Just because we live in a society that couldn't face the AIDS epidemic head on twenty years ago because of our prejudices and one that don't want to teach our kids about the use of prophylactics in schools on moral grounds and one that blows up abortion clinics because it offends their christian god, doesn't mean it can all go to hell in a hand basket, or can it?

I won't argue about the depravity of women who do this
But do we want the baby to pay? It's not about a free ride for the parents, it's about saving a baby's life. It would be wonderful if everyone took responsibility for their actions but they don't and people of conscience must not allow the innocent to suffer. I don't think it's enabling irresponsibility. It's doing our duty toward these babies. If the culture turns toward a respect for life in tnis way, perhaps will start seeing less of this depravity.
