We are to be in the world not of it.
I feel a blog coming on. Our country may have been founded based on Judeo-Christian ethics, I do not believe that our government was intended to legislate morality as much as it does. It was designed to promote freedom and I believe the free exchange of beneficial ideas, while protecting individual rights, not promoting individual agendas. To be a kind of neutral mediator. Mainstream Christianity is as guilty of any other group of trying to "deneutralize" the government.

westwend --- it appeared that your mind picking attempt didn't go that well
it's a tough issue for some people when they insist on wrapping the bible in the flag. They quite often use phrases like " the religion this country was founded on " . A statement like this suggests a proprietory right or over riding veto by those who have been in this country longer. ( assume I am an American for a minute ) It is tough for many to come to terms with what a true democracy is. In that once a person has fullfilled all of the necessary criteria to become a citizen they have the same rights of protection of their freedoms as any other citizen. I do buy the argument of long held historical traditions to a certain extent but as the face of the populace changes with immigration so to do the traditions.

You've made the point I'm trying to make.
But there seem to be schools of thought out there that don't recognize the validity of belief outside of Christianity (it is a Christian tradition, you know) and I am attempting to "pick the mind" of the blog's author to garner a statement as to where he/she stands on this issue.

I dont understand your question. What do you mean "deal" with other religions? America is a land where all religions are welcome.
