Well written but long post...clever title. I think we all know what the problem is. No one has a workable solution. We're human beings--we rarely learn anything from past mistakes. We won't listen to wisdom unless it fits our agenda and we're self-absorbed. Shall I go on??? Why do you think alien visitors here on our planet have hidden their presence from us? We're dangerous idiots.

I'm listening too.

I addition to liking paul475's blog idea here, I liked westend's "messiah complex" take on things. Nobody tries to emulate the good deeds and ethical living of the most popular messiah, Jesus. All they do is spout on and on about forgiveness. They even poist that no man can be that ethical -- i.e., live that much in tune to the needs of others and his own proper, accomodating, and thoughtful place in this world (do unto others as you'd have done unto yourself).

I'm not saying any man can be perfect in these respects. It's just that we all seem to have an excuse not to be -- the messiah complex. It's circular. We convince ourselves of mankind's inability to achieve justice, and then the situation manifests. The vicious cycle repeats.

actually . . .
most people don't want to be bothered
they are comfortable where they are
and any hint at change DIScomforts them
and they don't want that
they want someone else to do it.
that's the "MESSIAH" complex
then they crucify whoever it is that went out on a limb for them
that's why all this bull shit happens
people let it happen
only when it's a the lowest point it can get, like a Depressoin and starvation and no jobs and like that do people change things -- and usually it's nowhere near the majority.
only a third of the people support our Revolutionary War.
I'm certain few people support the Russian Revolution either.
then they moan because someone else is taking charge.
hail Michael Moore.
problem is he's entertainment just like everything else
we want entertainment to take our attention away from everything else.
at least I'm listening to you.
don't know if anyone else is.
