Whammie...

I just had a thought.  Maybe in some manor in the 1800's there was a promiscuous housekeeper caught in a compromising situation with the Lord of the Manor.  The Lady of the Manor, left almost speechless came out with, you guessed it.... "You shameless hussy!"

I may have to buy drinks for that lame joke!

Now I know where the word "hussy" comes from!  Thanks.

Luv,

Whammie

Quirky
housekeeper - may mean more than you first envision.  As in giving all the home jobs a woman does a name - house - keeper.  She runs the house - hold, molds the family with her strength, etc., etc,..

In a previous post you had mentioned something regarding having your dictionary and paper with you most of the time and I picture you that way.  I am elated you started this blog - don't use that dic. on me;)

hmmm. never thought I'd see the word hussy and housekeeper in
one sentence! BTW, my Random House dictionary says, "earlier, hussive, HOUSEWIFE," which is slightly different than housekeeper...
