I really hope it gets better and soon.
My husband broke both wrists and couldn't work for 3 months,
the bills pile up and I thought we'd never see daylight but
he's been working for 3 weeks now and I can breathe again.

I've always been the giver and never the receiver with cash..

I guess staying single and not having kids has helped that out quite a bit.

I also don't celebrate holidays.  That's saves thousands a year right there.

Hope yous get back on the foots soon enough.

Hey, that's a great idea, WHAMENATOR.
Everyone who wants to donate a buck or two can get the email for PalPal and it won't hurt us a bit.

Schatz, some of us here would like to help you!!!!!!!!

I posted on my blog, and another blogger suggested that if we donate $1 via paypal, then that could get you over the hurdle and put some food in the cupboards.  You have some friends, here, y'know, and a dollar that does not break an individual adds up to one who is in crisis.

However, we would need an email address to accomplish that!

Luv and prayers, My Friend!

I really understand what you are feeling.
I don't have kids, but I know the feeling of not having what you need.  I live in San Diego and I work with some wonderful animal rescue places.  I'm not caught up on why you have to give them away for a while, but please email me and maybe I can give you some new solutions.  I'm pretty resourceful in that arena.  My animals have always had food when I didn't, so I understand.  My heart would break if I were in your situation.  Let's put our heads together, and at the very least, maybe I can help find some good, solid foster parents for your fuzzikids up in your area.  I had to do that for my fuzzikid after the 1994 earthquake.

Schatz, you have a huge heart!!!!!!

I will keep clicking on you, for that little bit it might help, and I am praying for you, too.  Not necessarily in a church, but to the master Creator, that loves all of us and not just a specific sect!

Love and prayers!

Schatz, my heart goes out to you, and hope things work out ok.
Don't feel bad about crying and worrying about your cats, that's what people who truly love their animals do. I know I'm in the minority but I disagree with the distinction FirstFig and others make between animals and kids. I hope you don't have to give the cats away permanently, for they surely would feel sad. But do what needs to be done for your family, and everything will work out okay in the long run. My best to you, Quirky.

Sweetie
Okay, I am not trying to be insensitive to your animals or your situation BUT! You are worried about the kind of food your cats get and you have to stretch your dollar until the next pay day to buy food for yourselves. Something is amis. I have pets too and I love them as if they were my kids, but I promise you, they would have to go without Science Diet and be reduced to Chuck Wagon or generic dog food if times got rough and we were waiting to eat. Hell, I might eat their Chuck Wagon if I needed to. My dogs will eat tin foil if there is a bone hidden inside of it, and so would your cats. They might crap like mad for a couple of days but to them it was worth it. Ask friends to watch them for you until you can get on your feet. Have you ever thought of becoming a secret shopper for a little extra cash? It is easy, the money is not a lot but it is a great way to get a free Pizza now and then, clothes and a little mad money. Search Secret Shopper on the internet and see what you can find. Good luck, you are blessed with a family who will help you. Take care

Schatz, I understand.
so much.  I have been the receiver of helping hands, it's a great feeling.  Makes you want to do better so you can pay it forward;)  I agree with Passionflower, stay as long as you can.  Have you tried getting some sort of Medical Assistance for the folks?  Isn't there some way to get nurses through aid for low income elderly or am I in my world again  Hey, I could move there and be your nanny, jk.

posted by EccentricShock on June 4, 2004 at 12:24 PM | link to this | reply

I suspect the move will be be for the best, because it will force me to go
back to school.  It's the kick in the pants I've needed for a long time.  And yes, it will be the very last resort.

The power of friendship is an amazing thing, as I found out earlier this year. You are lucky to have friends and family who care for you. I wish you all the best.

I hope you'll try every other possibility before moving. Only make it a last resort. Couldn't you do some part-time baby-sitting or on-line sales or something to supplement the income? I'll be praying something comes up to where you can stay put.

Hi...
Best of luck with everything--I was recently laid off, so I feel your pain to a lesser extent...though I do not have as many financial burdens right now. I will be sure to enlighten you if I figure out a get-rich-quick plan that works!  Good luck!
