- Go to LET'S ABOLISH THE PUBLIC SCHOOL SYSTEM
Of course, I was actually referring to my own school experience. I'm still waiting to see how my son does. What if it was all
my fault?

I've written a number of posts further back in my blog, Fabulous Ed, regarding my particular complaints toward the school system. I think they've become far to bureaucratic to think straight.

Sometimes I feel like Goldie Hawn....
The public school system seems so messed up -- at least in the urban area where I teach. I am amazed and shocked by things I have seen and heard. The problem is -- as bad as it is --there is nothing to take the place of it right now. Sometimes I feel like Goldie Hawn (ummm, what was the name of that movie?) when she asks where is the army with the condominiums. I am still looking for the school where the floors are not riddled with mouse droppings, where you are not afraid to come to school, where you are not a victim of violence, and where you are not so consumed with classroom mamagement because of chronic misbehavior that the children actually learn something. Schools are filled with children and they should be jouful places.

not too likely
but anything will be better than what we have. I think parents should just walk out on the system en masse and not return until the educrats quit whining about money and start doing something with what they have.

ok
We can abolish the public school system. But once we are done with that, the government should take all the GOOD teachers, not the you know whos, who are only there on tenure, and pay them twice their previous salary to home school a livingroom of no more than five neighborhood kids. What do you think?
