I read your post again ...
to make sure I got it right. Let me clarify some things. I don't agree with the priest on the point that scientists know nothing. I'm not a Creationist. Nor do I fully agree with Darwin. I think the evidence points away from the universe being created in 7 days. I believe the Genesis story is told in human terms and it doesn't really matter if it took 7 days or 7 billion years. Many Christians think it has to be taken literally but if an honest quest for understanding of the universe leads us away from strict creationism, the truth should not be feared. I believe that Faith and Reason go hand-in-hand. If you accept that God gave us reason, and reason is a good thing, you must conclude he wants us to use it.
I DO think it's true that evolution is too often taught as pure fact. It would be more honest to teach what is known, how it is known, and what is speculation.
All I was taking issue with is whether or not it was rude of the priest to do what he did. If he's there on field trips, it's not out of place to instruct the kids as to what their religion teaches about these things. Obviously, if he's disturbing others(intentionally) or talking over someone it's rude.
As for your analogy, I would think it rude if someone did that. It's rude to disrupt people when they are speaking. The difference of opinion is not the rude part.

Okay, how about I go to a public park where a Christian group is meeting, knowing full well what they believe in and they are having a time of prayer and I start going off, loudly to make sure they hear every word I say, about how they have no clue as to what they are saying and that they are stupid for believing as they do? You will go and defend the priest for being just as rude because you do not see anything wrong with that, because once more you are blind to the offensive in what he was doing due to the simple fact that you believe as he does. Since his beliefs do not offend you then it is all right for him to be rude and offend others because they should not find it offensive. Places like a history museum are not the right place for some idiot not come around and preach against what is being taught there. It would be like a skin head going to a holocaust museum and claiming it never happened. He would only be there ot cause trouble and offend people, for there is no other reason to do such a thing. And that is true for the priest as well.

Sorry, but unlike a whole lot of Christians I know of, I respect people's beliefs and will not do such a rude act.

Is the Natural History Museum the Church of Atheists?
The priest is free to speak his mind in a public place. You can come to my church if you don't mind being laughed out the door.
