The Spirit of God has taught me
not men. Men are imperfect ( in and of themselves). Only the Spirit of God can teach that old book to a soul. THe Spirit of God is real and He is a teacher. And yes, He does use a man ( or woman) as His willing instrument to accomplish His purpose, which is the healing of minds and then the giving of sight to the blind.

I guess I just won't settle for what some old book and those who get power from teaching that old book, tell me. I would rather learn the truth from living life and questioning everything in order to find the answers on my own.

Well, you're half right
yes many questions have been answered. no i am not the authority on everything of course. I guess I define peace as a cessetation from the laborous searching for truth. not an end to exploring and experiencing the riches of life and relationships through the diamond of spiritual vitality.

I feel for you. obviously your life is complete already because all your answers have been answered. You now have nothing left to live for. You know it all and are the authority on everything. No need for you to ask questions at all.

I don't think I would want to live if I ever reached such a state of mind. the world would loose all interest and nothing would have meaning any more.

No.
Im am not telling you to not use your mind. Why would God give us a mind and expect us to not use it? All I am saying is certain things to me are settled amd final and sure. And I have ceased from my labors. I have entered into the peace of assurance in regards to the world, evil, good, horror, injustice, love, afterlife, the universe, philosophy, women, my past, my future. My mind is still utilized to monitor these things in a new light. But my mind does not carry the weight of responsibility of figuring them out anymore. That can drive a man to insanity. THe Spirit of God has given me understanding. I have meat and drink that you do not know of. From the living Christ. It satisfies my soul. In Isaiah God says Come, let us reason together. Of couse this implies utilization of the mind, in a relationship with God. He will feed your mind with food that is delicious: understanding.

Cantey to me the idea of having questions is healthy and keeps you mind healthy as well. I am at peace because I know that I will always be able to question and therefore my mind will always be mine. Recent studies have shown that you are more likely to get Alzheimer if you do not use your mind as much. Basically to keep your mind healthy, you need to think. Asking questions if thinking. When you stop asking you stop thinking and just settle for the idea that you have all the answers you need. To some this is peace, btu to people lime it is ignorant bliss and the idea of that scares me too much. I would never find peace in not having my mind be my own.

so cantey
Peace to you is ignorant bliss. How scary.

The definition of Peace is
Wholeness. If you are whole, what answers are left? If you question, you are at a loss of knowledge of some kind. If you are whole, you need no more knowledge because your quest for answers or knowledge is complete. This is my definition of peace, the state of rest or no more need to search. I am complete in my knowledge ( of the unknown). Not in secular education. But that does not provide peace anyway, it is peripheral and tools.

The NT does not have God in it, just Jesus, a man. He taught, not God.

And I am always at peace. Just because someone questions does not mean they are troubled or unsure. In my experience it is normally those who are more sure who question the most. The unsure are afraid to question because they are afraid of answers.

And If you are ever questioning
how are you at peace?

But the same claim to fame in the OT
is the same in the NT. So where do you draw distinction?

You don't want to ask question or think about things. You like having a false level of comfort that says it is better to just not question. That scares me more than anything else I see in the world. Too many people just will not question things.

God IS out there banging people in the head with rules, why else have so many rules in the Bible and then have threats to back them up.

And yes, if the stories of Jesus are even partially true, he taught. But Jesus was just a man, he was not God. That is and idea added to the tells of Jesus to make him look more impressive.. God does not teach. Never has, never will. Look through the Old Testament and you will not find him teaching. He punishes and threatens, but never teaches.

Kooka, I don't think you should question copy with numbers in it.

Once again, its not BS. Its in plain language
it answers your question directly, and it does not dance but YOU dont want answers. Or so it appears.  God is a teacher. In the form of the Holy Spirit. Jesus taught people all of His life, under the direction of the Holy Spirit. God teaches His people today, under the direction of the Holy Spirit. God is not out there banging people in the head with rules. He is teaching His people all the time, every day. You want to be taught also. Accept Jesus and be born into His Kingdom. Then the Holy Spirit will then be able to teach you.  BUT as long as you resist and reject Him, how can He teach you Kooka?

Wow
What a giant load of BS. That answered nothing and just danced around the question. No surpirse there

There was a man of the Pharisees named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews. 2 This man came to Jesus by night and said to Him, "Rabbi, we know that You are a teacher come from God; for no one can do these signs that You do unless God is with him."

3 Jesus answered and said to him, "Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God."

4 Nicodemus said to Him, "How can a man be born when he is old? Can he enter a second time into his mother’s womb and be born?"

5 Jesus answered, "Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God. 6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. 7 Do not marvel that I said to you, ‘You must be born again.’ 8 The wind blows where it wishes, and you hear the sound of it, but cannot tell where it comes from and where it goes. So is everyone who is born of the Spirit."

9 Nicodemus answered and said to Him, "How can these things be?"

10 Jesus answered and said to him, "Are you the teacher of Israel, and do not know these things? 11 Most assuredly, I say to you, We speak what We know and testify what We have seen, and you do not receive Our witness. 12 If I have told you earthly things and you do not believe, how will you believe if I tell you heavenly things? 13 No one has ascended to heaven but He who came down from heaven, that is, the Son of Man who is in heaven. 14 And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of Man be lifted up, 15 that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life. 16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. 17 For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.

and:

"I still have many things to say to you, but you cannot bear them now. 13 However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come. 14 He will glorify Me, for He will take of what is Mine and declare it to you. 15 All things that the Father has are Mine. Therefore I said that He will take of Mine and declare it to you.

all of this takes place after you receive the new birth. But you do not even believe in God, so how could you ever understand or be taught when you have not even proceeded past step 1.
