It's In the heart
Religion is in our heart all we have to do is use our ears to hear god we don't have to be bible bashers.

Very good post!
I wrote a poem discussing this.  The Bible has a lot of healthy information in it.  The attitude that it is the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth puts an unrealistic expectation of a perfect performance on the writers and subsequent "editors."  Fortunately for me, my faith doesn't rely on this understanding of the Bible and more on God's love and the fact that the Holy Spirit lives inside me.  Kooka I am going to repost that poem I wrote in my God-Colored Glasses blog, check it out!

Did you
know Hell is located in the center of the earth? Around 28000 F. There is a cell block there 3 miles in circumferance and 17 miles high.

I posted something similar in one of my blogs...coming from a different direction, though.

In other words, I'm a pain in the Pastor's butt.

Kooka,

I've a degree in Biblical Studies, read the book, and listen to it on tape on almost a daily basis.  Even at its "weakened" form that I know it is, I still know and believe that we are able to receive a measure of wisdom, understanding, and light about who God is and what He thinks and feels for us.  Many, many horrific and bad things have been done in the name of God by organized churches - including the death by crucifixions of all the Apostles, and the slaughter of millions of Jews.  Having said that, after 25 years of being a strong, committed Christian, I find myself a non-committal regular "vistor" at whichever service God leads me to that week.  I see the political power plays and am one known to speak prophetically, truthfully, regarding the church's errors.
