Two questions:
Question 1: Where did you hear that "Christian" conclusion you stated about Man's nature (God is good, therefore Man is evil)? Actually, Christianity teaches that Man is created in God's image. God said that humanity is "good." (both from the Bible, the Christian handbook.) Christianity teaches that Man is sinful, which is not the same as evil. Therefore, the logic you present does not refute a Christian principle, but an assumed principle.
Question 2: How do you know that good is actually good and evil is actually evil? More specifically, what determines the meanings of good and evil? Can you provide some kind of benchmark? According to the logic you present, with no benchmark, Charles Manson really shouldn't be behind bars. Manson believed that it was right to slaughter those people; that he was helping them by delivering them from their existence; that his actions would change the world for the better.
Just a couple of things to think about...

I am very happy to live with a happy truth. And since I have not put all my faith into one idea that is all I live for, if a proof of a different truth comes to light, it will not destroy me to learn it. So I am not scared to ask the hard question or listen to all who have an opinion. I can be truly open minded because it will not make my world crumble it the final truth is not what I think it to be.

Eric
Go back and read the last few posts here. I talk about what we are part of and how just by living we are adding to something here and now. Living a good life and doing what you can to make the world a better places does effect things on a higher scale, just like an atom in your body doing its job helps your body to function as it should. It is the here and now that matters, afterwards there is just nothing. Here and now you can make a difference and change not only the world, but the universe just by doing what is needed.

Very nicely put. People cling to pet theories and beliefs, often with little or no justification. Others have a nagging sense that there wasting their time, but have put so much time and effort into something that they feel powerless to let it go. Sometimes people are ostracized by their social group if there's any hint of swaying. Letting cherished beliefs go is painful. Would you ralther live a happy lie or the sad truth? I think most people prefer the first.

A Question for You
Assuming what you say is true (and I assume no such thing), what is this life worth if there is nothing beyond it? Why play by any set of rules -- call them law, or ethics, or whatever -- if only other human beings are the rule makers? Better that I subjugate myself to an intangible God than to tangible beings no greater than myself.
