From what you were saying I figured you did not understand what I was saying. Therefore I was not getting my message across and so I needed to figure out how to get that message across. I changed it because you made it very clear to me that people might misunderstand what I was saying. Consider it my second draft.

I don’t get it. Just because I say I like it you go and change it. Perhaps you are just opposed to me. I wonder - if I were to become an atheist would you suddenly start believing in God?

Okay Shawn
I decided to try and help get my message across better and edit the piece up a little and see if that does not help convey the message I wish to express.

I know when I said 'Our being here serves no other purpose than to make God feel good somehow,' I meant that it was NOT a good thing for that to be the reason God created us. I was trying to say that because of this idea, it is a reason I DO NOT believe God created us. So although I am glad you liked the post, I feel you are a little off as to what I was trying to say.

It is NOT a good thing if God created us to be his pets.

Bravo!
This a great post. You are coming into an acute realization.

I agree
And that is a message I have been trying to get some Christians here to understand. You do not need God to be able to be good.

I believe you can be a "positive" atheist. What you are as a person depends on good action more than on belief.
