Zephyr - I researched some of these letters and they are definitely being sent by con artists, granted not terribly talented ones, but some them have pretty good English skills like the guy from Iraq and the one with the aluminum siding. Sometimes it looks like one con sells the form letter to another one.
I'll bet you are a businessman with your e-mail posted so it is readily available which makes you an easy target.

Zephyr - How do you get so lucky? You must be on somebody's list as i get one of those two a year. How many do you get in a month? The sad thing, is that there are people who really fall for this stuff - but they have to be greedy - think they're called "pigeons".
